ABOUT ME

My name is Briana Leinart and I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University. I am anticipating to graduate in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Community Health. I am from Tucson, Arizona and I plan on moving back after graduation if an opportunity arises.

As a high school student, I knew that Nursing was the career path I wanted to follow. I have always wanted to help people and was very interested in anatomy and physiology. Fortunately, I was presented with the opportunity to receive my Medical Assistant certification in high school which set the foundation for my nursing path. After graduating from high school I decided to go to the military to earn my Post 9/11 GI Bill which would essentially pay for my college degree. I ended up serving five years of active duty in the United States Navy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Handler. After getting honorably discharged in 2020, I started my career as a Navy reservist and have been doing this for the past three years while also being a full-time college student.

After graduation, I plan on working as a circulating nurse in an operating room. During my time in the military and in nursing school I have learned an abundance of new skills, had life-changing experiences, and I am excited to use them to my advantage in my future endeavors. In my free time, I like to volunteer, hike, play soccer, and spend time with my husband and dogs.
